Today, I actually woke up early enough to make breakfast! Let me begin by telling you that I am not a morning person. I can sleep 10 hours straight and still know I could go on (if there was a sleep marathon, I'd be a champ). But today was different. I awoke with a little pep in my step! So what did I do? I made breakfast from scratch! I looked around in the refrigerator and saw some plums and nectarines that needed to be used ASAP. I love the combo of the two and remember seeing it on a dessert menu somewhere recently. Dessert for breakfast? Done. I didn't want this to be too sweet though, because with a long day of work ahead, I definitely don't need that dreaded afternoon sugar crash! So here we have... my Plum and Nectarine Crumble, using an oatmeal streusel and whole wheat flour to justify a "healthy-ish" breakfast.
