Besides cake, which I can pretty much can eat everyday, tarts are always welcome in my home. When I couldn't figure out what to make with a box full of fresh persimmons that I picked from my mom's house, I started to brainstorm different ways they could be used.
I am not so in love with pies so I decided that a tart would be a really good idea. But how would I make this work? Would I do something like a berry tart with pastry cream at the bottom and Hachiya persimmons on top? The problem was that none of them were ripe enough to do that, although I think I'll give it a try some day. So I delved into the Fuyu and suddenly the idea of the French apple tart came to mind. I had made the French apple tart years ago for a dinner party and everyone loved it so I thought swapping it out for Fuyu persimmons would be really simple. And it was! So check out the video in the photo below and recreate your own for the upcoming holiday season. Or even just for breakfast because it's that good.
