Ever since I first saw Lemonade in Venice Beach, I've been curious. Though I never had the opportunity to actually eat at one I've always wanted to. The food looks like a fresh take on Whole Food's deli/salad department, which I absolutely love too! Tonight was the Grand Opening Party of the Palo Alto location. The architecture of the building is perfect for this spot because it sort of reminds me of lemon wedges. The building has gone through so many different tenants, I hope this one sticks.
The food was so good. I ordered the Land and Sea combo with 2 sides. My Land and Sea item was ahi poke that was on point - I love how they even had mandarin oranges in there. It was very unique and I will have to try that next time I make poke at home. For my sides, I chose a chiboga radish with snow peas salad that was light and crunchy, and a potato dill salad with smoked salmon, which was delightful! I like dill but the intense herb flavor can often times overpower a dish. This was perfectly balanced. My husband ordered a brisket stew, avocado and tomato salad, and roasted broccoli. Simple! I was too into my food to try his, but the avocado looked like it was mashed with the tomatoes. I would have preferred for them to be left as chunks, but margins would be too high if they did that, so I understand. All in all, I give this place a 2 thumbs up and would definitely go back again for a quick lunch!
