I always try to create some time to gain knowledge but it's not an easy thing to do. My schedule is booked 24/7 working at a full time job, filming my daily vlog on Wild Honeysuckle, and coming up with unique and creative food tutorials on Honeysuckle Catering. I really wish I had the time to physically pick up a book, but alas, with such a busy schedule I really appreciate that I can still study via audiobooks during my in-between times. And that's why I always have a new book available on my Audible phone app.
I'm constantly reminded by my husband to reach higher, to better myself. He's such a great influence and it's typical to hear an audiobook playing while he showers or before he goes to sleep. His habits have quickly transferred to me and I now find myself listening to audio books on my way to work, while cooking, and when I find myself outdoors on a walk, for example. This past Sunday we decided to take our Border Collie, Ollie, out to play at the park before his big surgery on Monday (the "emasculating" one) Poor guy… While Nate was playing Frisbee with him I decided to plan out my weekly filming schedule and listen to my book. I'm currently working through The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg. This book gives case studies and detailed stories about people that have achieved success by "focusing on the patterns and habits that shape every aspect of our lives." (from the publisher's summary.) There are a few habits that I would like to implement in my life including waking up earlier, exercising more, and being more productive with my time. These are the habits I've observed in some of the most successful people that I've met.
I love listening to business and self-empowerment books because it helps to motivate and focus my efforts for my career and life. What kinds of books do you read and have you ever tried listening to them in an audio format? I love audio books because they allow me to multi-task. And I get to wear these cute cat-ear headphones! If you've never used Audible before I highly recommend it! You can get a 30 day free trial with an app download here.
I'd love to know what books you'd start with. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know!
